- About the Package
Tours cusco manu is a tours to the manu national park start from Cusco, where we will pass paucartambo, arriving at ajanacu is the beginning of the manu national park from the beginning of our trip we will be able to observe magnificent specimens of endemic species, in this tours cusco manu we will sail in boats from which we observe a multitude of bird species and visit a native community to see their way of life. - Itinerary
We leave Cusco very early in the morning Time: 5:30 - 6:00 a.m. Pick up from the hotel in our comfortable bus. On the way we visit the funeral towers or Chullpas de Ninamarca at 3750 masl and a brief visit to Paucartambo, a folkloric town, colonial bridge. We ascend to the upper area of Paucartambo. Acjanaco is the highest point at 4000 meters above sea level. Then we descend through the mysterious cloud forest, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns.
We take a walk to appreciate the Cock of the Rocks (Rupícola peruviana) in the mating ritual. There is also the possibility of observing Trogons (Trogon sp.), Quetzals, monkeys and the only bear in South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon we will arrive at our HOSTEL, in Pilcopata (550 m.s.n.m.) in our typical hostel in the area with hot water in the showers and private bathroom.
After a delicious breakfast, we continue our 45-minute bus trip to Puerto de Atalaya. On the way we observe coca plantations and fruit trees AND ORCHIDS, we embark on a motorized boat along the Alto Madre de Dios River. On the way we can observe a great variety of birds, such as herons, kingfishers and always the presence of vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, the king of vultures (Sarcoramphus papa) and the Jaguar (Pantera Onca) likewise we have a stop in natural hot waters, to take medicinal baths, if we still have time we visit the Native community of Diamante to see their typical constructions of houses and see the wild fruits they have. In the afternoon we arrive at the village of Boca Manu (280 meters above sea level) where we have accommodation. Shelter with showers and toilets.
After breakfast we enter the reserve area where we will have a better opportunity to observe the biodiversity offered by the manu, a brief stop at the park ranger control (LIMONAL WATCHPOINT). The boat trip continues and one begins to realize why Manu is so famous, for his wildlife. On the banks of the river you can see groups of turtles, white caimans (Caiman cocodrylus) or perhaps some capybaras (Hydrochoerus, hydrochaeris) and many more.
In the afternoon we arrive at our safari camp in Cocha Otorongo, (250 meters above sea level) (double beds inside platforms) shortly after we organize a walk to visit the lake and the 30-meter observation tower from where we have the opportunity to observe the wolves of the river Here in the Manu the animals have never been hunted by men. Night in safari camp on platforms with double beds with mosquito nets. Shared showers and toilets.
The group visits Cocha Salvador today, which is 30 minutes from Cocha Otorongo. Today they explore walking inside the virgin primary forest. We visit the lake to row silently on a catamaran that gives us the chance to observe the wolves of the river again and a great variety of strange birds, the sultana cock (Porphyrula Martinica or the Agamí Heron ( Agamia) and monkeys of different species almost certainly 9 species are observed.
Later we walk on the main trails with the guide to learn the functioning and secrets of the tropical forest. In the afternoon we return to our camp in Cocha Otorongo. Night in camp on platforms with a roof. Beds with mosquito net Showers and shared toilets available. Optional night walk.
Very early in the morning, the group will visit the macaw clay lick that is located in the Salvadorcillo stream, then we return by the MANU river OBSERVING THE BIODIVERCITY AT BOCA MANU. NIGHT IN SHELTER with bathrooms.
We continue to return by boat along the Alto Madre de Dios River. On the way we again have the option of seeing many birds and also, with great luck, animals. In the afternoon we are arriving at our hostel in Paititi. We spend the night in the hostel. Private showers and toilets available.
This day is very sad since we have to leave our wonderful jungle full of mysteries and return by boat to Atalaya, then we take the bus to Cusco, on the way we will be able to observe the Cloud Forest again, with an immense variety of flora and fauna.
