- About the Package
The walk on the snow-capped Ausangate is one of the most famous in Cusco for being one of the most important Apus of the Inca era. This walk is done above 4600 m.s.n.m. throughout your journey. The Ausangate, snowy now visited by thousands of tourists, on a tour that lasts 4 days, has beautiful landscapes; a combination between glacial lagoons and typical high altitude fauna. On this tour you will be able to observe snow-capped mountains such as Mariposa, Callangate, Colquecruz, Campa, etc. Many of these Glaciers are over 6,000 meters above sea level. they are little frequented by climbers.
- Itinerary
We leave very early from the city of Cusco boarding our vehicle, passing through Urcos Ocongate, until we reach Tinqui, where we will make our first camp for lunch and dinner.
We have breakfast very early to resume the walk towards Upis pampa, arriving in Upis in the afternoon where we will spend the night there for lunch and dinner.
The walk begins in what may be the most demanding day, arriving at the Arapa pass located at approximately 4958 masl, heading to the Ausangate Cocha Lagoon, where we will spend the night.
In the morning we will have breakfast, then we will continue the trip crossing the banks of the small lagoons until we reach the highest point of the route in the Palomani pass.
Later, we continue towards the Kampa valley, crossing the Pachaspata pass, where we will camp on the shores of Lake Qomer Cocha.
The descent begins, arriving at Pacchanta where we will rest and enjoy the baths in this area, the last day of the overnight stay.
After a short walk, we board our vehicle to return to the City of Cusco, arrival and transfer to the Hotel.
